As you may have heard on ABC Radio South East this morning, at 7.30 on Thursday 26 February I will be guest speaker at the South East Family History Group's general meeting (14 Stuckey Street, Millicent). Everyone is welcome but particularly those with a connection to the apprentices and their host farmers, or current owners of the properties. To find out if you have a connection, see the DATABASE at www.safarmapprentices.net/database.htmThose interested in the Barwell Boys will also be able to learn more about the origins of that scheme. I will be staying in the SE for a few days and would love to meet people 'on site' at some farms or with anyone who is unable to make it to the meeting. Nothing too formal - just a chat over a cuppa if you like! Thank you to Stan Thomson & Selina Green from ABC Radio and the local press for the chance to publicise the event, largely due to the efforts of the SEFHG in sending out media releases etc. I am looking forward to meeting you all!

Elspeth's visit to SEFHG was extremely successful with full house audience and lots of people with connections to several farm apprentice schemes. We certainly had a full day visiting farms around the South East, with more contacts everywhere we stopped. Thank you to Elspeth and Peter for all their effort in making the visit to the South East.
