Congratulations on the web site. A very interesting and well designed site. Although the information on the site is based on South Australian schemes, I could not help but post regarding my research into the Boy Scouts who emigrated from Scotland in 1928 [on the Orvieto] and went to the Bathurst Experimental Farm [or Bathurst Apricultural and Research Station]. I would be very grateful if I could make contact with other researchers who are interested in this scheme in NSW. I am particularly interested in one Scottish Boy Scout Ronald William Robertson who was 17 years old when he emigrated. Wishing you all well in your research. Bethany

Hi Bethany Thanks for your post - hopefully someone will be in touch soon! I trust you found the page about the boy scouts who came to SA on the SS Beltana? www.safarmapprentices.net/proponents/scouts.htmThe SA Scout Archives is a fantastic resource - hopefully you have an equivalent in NSW. In 2007 the Immigration Museum in Melbourne had an exhibition "Celebrating World Cultures Through Scouting" which included some good info about the scouts' involvement in migration schemes. Perhaps the people who worked on that project came across some info about NSW? Finally, Pat Styles from the UK Scouts sent me an article about the Scouts' Buckhurst Place Farm School and might also be a good contact at that end. Unfortunately I can't find her email address just now. Best of luck with it all, Elspeth
